Engineering, permitting, construction and plumbing under one roof, so nothing gets lost between trades.
Licensed engineers on staff, not subcontracted.
One point of accountability from kickoff to closeout.
We self-perform, so the schedule stays ours to keep.
A full plumbing division, not a subcontractor relationship.
Architecture, engineering, and construction, all in-house, all on one contract. No handoffs. No scope gaps. No finger-pointing when something changes. Just one team that designed it, engineered it, and built it.
“You imagine it, then it's designed and engineered, and then it's built. And it's built for a lifetime.”
Every project starts with a clear picture in your head. We help you build that picture, site feasibility, regulatory review, preliminary engineering.
Architecture and civil design produced in-house. No handoff to a separate architect. The engineer and the designer are the same team.
Structural, mechanical, and fuel systems engineering. PE-stamped drawings in all required states. Permits pulled, not outsourced.
Construction management and self-performed work. The people who designed it are on the job site. Change orders are rare because we thought it through.
Certificate of occupancy, as-built drawings, and a team that answers the phone after the ribbon is cut.
Every major engineering firm in the country has a carve-out in their contract for fuel systems. The tanks, the dispensers, the environmental compliance, they hand it to a specialist and call it a day. The owner is left managing two contracts, two schedules, and two sets of fingers to point when something goes wrong.
AEC was built to own that scope. Ron Fair has been engineering and building fuel systems since before most firms knew what a UST was. We carry the liability because we know what we're doing. One contract. One call. No carve-outs.

Motiva Enterprises for Shell Oil · Fort Lauderdale, FL · May–July 2006
Ron Fair and George Padilla led the installation of new fuel tanks, dispensers, and canopy at Station #2093030163. The station opened upon completion with absolutely no problems, and a 25-year Shell dealer wrote an unsolicited letter to Motiva Enterprises recommending AEC for all future work across the Shell dealer network.
“In my 25 years as a dealer for Shell, I have never had reason to write a letter about a contractor hired by Shell Oil… until now.”
, Stavros Moforis, Shell Dealer, Rio Vista Shell (July 21, 2006)
“Ron and George coordinated the job seamlessly with the utmost professionalism. Motiva has spent their money wisely in contracting AEC Services.”

Xerxes Corporation profiles AEC's engineering leadership in Radiant Oil's transition from steel to fiberglass fuel tanks across seven Florida stations. Ron Fair: "You don't worry about pennies and miss dollars."
Xerxes Corporation Project Profile, 2009
AEC Services is a Christian-owned family business. That means something to us beyond a line on a website. It means we do what we say we'll do. It means we tell you the truth about your project, even when the truth is inconvenient. It means we're still here thirty years later because we built a reputation worth keeping.
“There's too many people in this business who are in it for money. Their soul's not in it. And that's not who we are.”
“It's really easy to make money in business. All you have to be is honest.”
, Ron Fair, Founder & President

Find Answers for Your ProjectAEC Services Inc. is a design-build engineering and construction firm based in Tampa, Florida. It carries a project from first concept through a finished, operating site using in-house engineering and permitting, general construction, a fuel department, a plumbing company and a small electrical group. The firm was founded in 1996 and employs 53 people.
Design-build means the people designing a project and the people building it are on the same team from day one, under one contract. AEC Services builds this way because it shortens the schedule, produces a budget grounded in what the work actually costs, and removes the gap between what is drawn on paper and what can be built in the field.
For a brand new site, plan on six months to over a year. The long ones involve wetland mitigation, stormwater or soil issues, where several regulatory agencies sit on top of the building department. At the other end, AEC Services has turned compliance permits around in a week. The same small job can take two days in one jurisdiction and ninety in another.
AEC supports fuel-system scopes that can include underground storage tanks, aboveground storage tanks, dispensers, canopies, piping, generator fuel systems, CNG and LNG infrastructure, fiberglass tank specification, biofuel compatibility and related permitting coordination. The exact scope is defined around the facility, operating requirements, applicable regulations and the interfaces with the rest of the site. AEC can provide a defined fuel-system package or coordinate that work as part of a larger design-build project.
